Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco – Machu Picchu with Mágicos Caminos

• The tour begins with Mágicos Caminos picking up travelers from their hotel at approximately 4:10 a.m. From there, we will depart in private transportation towards the Ollantaytambo train station, in a journey of approximately an hour and a half. Once at the station, Mágicos Caminos will assist you in boarding the Expedition train that will take you to Machu Picchu Pueblo, where you will arrive around 7:40 a.m.
• Upon arrival, a Mágicos Caminos guide will be waiting to accompany you to the bus station and embark on the ascent to the Machu Picchu citadel. With Mágicos Caminos, you will enjoy a two-hour guided tour of the most emblematic points of Machu Picchu, where you will discover the fascinating history and architecture of this unique Inca site.
• After the guided tour, Mágicos Caminos will give you free time to explore Machu Picchu on your own until noon. You can wander through the citadel and capture more unforgettable moments before taking the bus down to Machu Picchu Pueblo, where you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy additional activities, such as strolling through the town’s streets, relaxing in the thermal baths, or visiting the Manuel Chávez Ballón Museum. These activities are optional and can be done on your own.
• A key recommendation from Mágicos Caminos is to be at the train station half an hour before departure. Your return train departs at 3:20 p.m., so you should be at the station by 2:00 p.m. The train will take you back to Ollantaytambo, arriving at approximately 5:15 p.m. Upon arrival, Mágicos Caminos staff will coordinate your bus transport to the Wanchaq station in Cusco.
• Finally, upon arrival in Cusco, a Mágicos Caminos transfer will be waiting to take you back to your hotel, concluding a day full of history, culture, and spectacular landscapes.

• Camera: The Q’eswachaka Bridge and its surrounding landscapes are breathtaking, so don’t forget your camera or a phone with enough battery to capture the best moments.
• Respect for tradition: This bridge holds great cultural and spiritual importance for the local communities. It’s recommended to follow the guide’s instructions and respect local customs.
• Altitude: The area is at a considerable altitude, so if you’re not accustomed to it, take your time to acclimate and avoid excessive physical exertion.
• Cash: It’s useful to carry some cash in soles for any additional purchases or tips, as not all places accept cards.
